A Facebook patent was published in late July, and it reveals plans to develop a system that will allow users to upload their own clothes into the Metaverse. The system is designed so that multiple pictures are taken of the user, recording details about the colour, shape and design of what they are wearing as well as their body. This information is then taken and converted into a three-dimensional mesh based on the clothes, and another based on the body underneath.

In computer graphics, a mesh is the basic structure of a model, giving it its general shape. It can then be further enhanced with the implementation of certain texture maps, similar to normal maps.
