7 Best New Gadgets and New Pets

With all new Go to Elder Online A Chapter comes with a series of new collectible kits and pets, typically designed to reflect the setting and theme of the expansion. The IS High Island Chapter allows players to ride or adventure alongside many of the oceanic creatures and other animals that call the golden, rolling hills of High Isle home.

Some of the new Go to Elder Online mounts and pets are tied to achievements, like the Stormsurge Howler, while others can be earned by completing specific objectives around the world, like the Coral Haj Mota. The new Chapter Crown Crate, the Dark Chivalry Crate, also gives players a few new outfits and pets as rare drops.

Pets: Hermit Crab

The Hermit Crab can be found naturally throughout High Isle, and while players cannot find or earn one in the world, one can be purchased from the Crown Store or with Crown Gems. It’s easy to miss these little guys as they wander along the High Isle coast blending into their wonderful surroundings.

The Hermit Crab can be purchased from the in-game Crown Store for 2000 Crowns, or through the Gem Crate store for 40 Crown Gems.

Mount: Palefrost Elk

The Palefrost Elk is a majestic device that is sure to draw attention from headless players. It glows a ghostly white and emits a faint particle effect, almost as if it were riding through its own personal cloud of frosty fog.

The Palefrost Elk was included with the pre-purchase edition of the Go to Elder Online: High Isle Chapter, which can only be obtained by purchasing this special edition of the game. It’s worth noting that the Palefrost Elk Fawn is a non-combat pet version of the Palefrost Elk, which is also earned by pre-purchasing the chapter.

Pets: Coral Haj Mota

Various Haj Mota can be found throughout Tamriel, but they are especially numerous throughout the High Isle and Amenos. Coral Haj Mota’s non-combat pet is a smaller, but much more elegant and elaborately designed version of one of these enemies.

The noncombat pet is earned for collecting items around the High Island Two new Chapter Public Dungeons. In Ghost Haven Bay, players must collect 25 Coral Haj Mota Lures. In Crimson Coin Spire, players must collect 25 Coral Haj Mota Decoys.

Mount: Stormsurge Howler

The Stormsurge Howler is an elemental device that looks something like a cross between the mountain Amenos Ornaug, included with the High Island Chapter Collector’s Edition, and Atronach Storm. It is vibrant, glows with a cracking lightning effect, and a sign to other players that you are a true ESO pro thanks to its extremely difficult requirements.

To earn the Stormsurge Howler, players must earn all achievements in the Reef Dreadsail Trial including High Island. This isn’t just limited to the normal mode achievements, either, as players must clear it on Veteran Hardmode and earn those achievements as well.

Pets: The Cat In Gonfalon Bay

There is a cat in Gonfalon Bay that can be interacted with, when approached, to trigger a special short scene. The camera pans around to see the player asking the cat to jump on them and be their pet – after a few seconds the cat is returned. This cat, named Warmseeker, can be found outside the entrance to the Gonfalon Bay Craftsman building.


Although this is not technically a non-combat pet, it is worth mentioning as a unique encounter i Go to Elder Online that many players probably lost. What it means for the game no one knows, but some have theorized that it could be a test for expanded character animations in future ESO chapters.

Mount: Luminous Meridian Charger

The Luminous Meridian Charger is a sight to behold. He takes the form of a spectral horse with golden Elven armor that only his wild form is like energy. It’s bright, easy to see, and makes a statement in any area you ride it.

The Luminous Meridian Charger doesn’t come cheap, however. In fact, it is only available through Crown Gem stores for 2500 GEMS or Endeavor Seals or as a rare drop from Dark Chivalry Crown Crates. Be prepared to spend a long time farming resources to buy this device, unless you feel lucky and want to try to open some Crown crates instead.

Pets: Heartland Butcher Dog

The Heartland Butcher Dog is the next in the long list of dogs making their way to it Go to Elder Online. This dog, which looks somewhere between a Rottweiler and a Boxer, is said to have earned its name after it was first used as a guard dog before its owners realized that they were not doing much protection and were doing in much more looking at food.

The Butcher Dog of the Heartland, like the Luminous Meridian Charger, is found in the High Island Chivalry Dark Chapter crates, but at a much higher drop rate. It can also be purchased directly for a paltry 40 Crown Gems or 2000 Endeavor Seals.
